Every time I come to Asahikawa, I must eat at Daikokuya and Ichikura Ramen.
Daikokuya is truly delicious.
Ichikura, surprisingly, has also become a must-eat ramen spot for me every time I visit Asahikawa.
I still remember in 2012, driving from Sounkyo to Asahikawa just to have a bowl of Ichikura Ramen, and then driving back to Sounkyo to sleep.

Today’s business at Ichikura seems to be slow, the chefs are idling around.

After sitting down, I took a look at what ramen to order this time.
My wife ordered the Scallop Ramen again for ¥1200.

And I decided to try the White Curry Ramen for ¥900 this time.

First, I poured the sauce, getting ready to eat the gyoza.

Soon, the ramen we ordered was served.
From a distance, I could see the scallops on my wife’s Scallop Ramen were huge.

My White Curry Ramen.

It’s came with asparagus, tomatoes, bamboo shoots, chashu, and a boiled egg.

These are the gyoza we ordered additionally.

Looking at the ramen again, the noodles weren’t particularly springy, just average.

However, the broth was quite good, somewhat like a white sauce but different—hard to describe.
It would be best if the staff stirred the ramen a bit when serving, so the broth would be more evenly mixed.

Finished the meal.

Order slip, finally

Finally,
I personally think: ★★★☆ (3.5)
There are many famous ramen places in Asahikawa, but I still prefer Ichikura Ramen.
Compared to the soy sauce flavor, I think the White Curry Ramen suits my taste better.
