Hakata Station is a haven for food lovers, with famous spots like Ichiran Ramen and Ippudo.
However, lunchtime can be incredibly crowded~
So this time, I opted for Kashiwaya Genjiro, located on the 9th floor of Hakata Station (JR Hakata City).

I ordered the Kitazaki Chicken Set Meal for ¥1600.

Complimentary side dishes
I find that many Japanese restaurants offer such delightful treats.
Free and delicious~
Absolutely fantastic !

This set meal, includes a chicken soup (Kitazaki Chicken Soup)
This chicken soup is incredibly rich, unlike the mushroom chicken soup commonly found in Taiwan.
I think it’s worth a try…
But drink it while it’s hot, or it might have a strong gamey taste

It also comes with tofu.

Tamagoyaki ( I can’t remember if this was for one or two people.)
Ever since I had a large Tamagoyaki at Tsukiji, I rarely eat it anymore.
However, after having an incredibly delicious Tamagoyaki in Aomori this February.
I’ve regained some faith in Japanese Tamagoyaki~
(Japanese Tamagoyaki is super sweet, great with rice, but too sweet to eat on its own~XD)

The oyakodon (Japanese Chicken and Egg Rice Bowl) arrived.

The preparation of this oyakodon is similar to that of YAYOI’S, but much tastier.
Unlike the usual oyakodon, which tends to be quite moist.
This one is a bit drier~
The rice isn’t mushy.

The last dish was stir-fried chicken, which was quite tasty.
The chicken had a firm texture, similar to free-range chicken, very nice.

However, the focus was off (It should have been on the front, but it shifted to the back.)

That’s a simple review of Kashiwaya Genjiro located on the upper floors of JR Hakata Station~
Personal Food Rating: ★★★☆ (3.5)
Comments:
I found the initial chicken soup quite special,
the rest was fairly standard.
I wonder how this oyakodon compares to the famous Toriiwarou in Kyoto?
